2022 Lexus RC 350 F Sport Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating

2022 Lexus RC 350 F Sport Paint Correction + Ceramic Coating

The Supreme Team recently completed a full paint correction and ceramic coating service on a 2022 Lexus RC 350 F Sport here in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This performance coupe already carries aggressive styling and sharp body lines straight from the factory, but like many daily driven vehicles, the paint had started showing the early signs of wear.

The owner brought it in looking to clean up the finish, remove light imperfections, and add stronger long-term protection to preserve the paint moving forward. For this project, we performed a full paint correction followed by a 3-Year System-X Ceramic Coating.

The RC in RC 350 Stands for “Radical Coupe”

Lexus introduced the RC as a bold departure from its traditional sedan lineup, with “RC” officially meaning Radical Coupe. It was designed to be sharper, wider, and more aggressive than the brand’s everyday luxury models.

Why the Lexus RC 350 F Sport Needed Paint Correction

A lot of people assume newer vehicles do not need paint correction, but that is rarely the case. Even on a 2022 model, paint defects can build up quickly from regular washing, improper drying techniques, dealership prep, and environmental contamination.

This Lexus had several issues:

  • Swirl marks from automatic or improper hand washing
  • Light surface scratches
  • Minor paint haze reducing gloss
  • Dealership wash marring

According to Kentrell Jackson, owner of Supreme Finish, “People think because a car is only a few years old, the paint is still perfect. That’s usually not true. Most of the time, the damage starts the day it leaves the dealership.”

Red paint, especially on a sporty platform like the RC 350 F Sport, tends to expose imperfections more than lighter colors. Swirls, hazing, and light scratches interrupt the way light reflects off the paint, reducing depth and making the finish look dull.

Paint correction removes those defects and creates the clean foundation needed before applying ceramic coating. Without proper correction, you are essentially sealing imperfections underneath the coating. Learn more about our Paint Correction services in Raleigh.

Paint Correction Process on This Lexus RC 350

Every correction starts with a full inspection. Before polishing begins, we examine the paint under specialized lighting to identify swirl patterns, random isolated scratches, and areas with heavier marring. On this Lexus, the defects were consistent across most panels, especially the hood, trunk, and upper door sections where sunlight tends to expose everything.

“The inspection tells us exactly what the paint needs,” says Jackson. “Every vehicle is different. Some need heavier correction, some need refining. You’ve got to read the paint first.” This step allows us to determine pad combinations, polish selection, and correction strategy.

Machine Polishing to Restore Clarity

Using a multi-stage correction process, we carefully worked through the defects to remove light scratches, reduce swirls, and restore optical clarity. This process levels imperfections in the clear coat and dramatically improves the way the paint reflects light. On red paint especially, the transformation becomes obvious fast.

Jackson explains it simply: “Red is one of those colors where correction makes a huge difference. Once you level the paint and bring clarity back, it looks alive again.” The correction process restored depth, sharpened reflections, and brought back the rich factory finish Lexus intended.

Applying the System-X Ceramic Coating

Once correction was complete, we applied a 3-Year System-X Ceramic Coating to protect the finish.

What Makes System-X Different

System-X is one of the most trusted ceramic coating systems in the industry, and as certified installers, we use it because of its proven durability and performance.

Benefits include:

  • Strong hydrophobic properties for water beading
  • UV resistance to reduce oxidation and fading
  • Chemical resistance against contaminants
  • Easier maintenance and cleaning
  • Increased gloss retention over time

Once cured, the coating bonds directly to the paint, creating a durable sacrificial layer over the clear coat.

“Ceramic coating isn’t just about shine,” says Jackson. “It’s about keeping the work we just did protected. That’s where the real value is.”

One of the Last Naturally Aspirated Luxury Coupes

The 2022 Lexus RC 350 F Sport keeps the 3.5L naturally aspirated V6 alive in a market that has largely shifted to turbocharged four-cylinders and hybrids. For enthusiasts, that means smoother power delivery, a more linear throttle response, and a classic high-revving driving feel.

Final Results on This Lexus

After the paint correction and ceramic coating were completed, this Lexus looked significantly sharper.

Paint correction and ceramic coating work well together. Correction restores the paint. Ceramic coating preserves it.
