Audi Q7 Paint Protection and Ceramic Coating
This black Audi Q7 came to Supreme Finish for protection against daily road wear and an exterior that would be easier to keep clean. The project paired hood protection against road debris with a ceramic treatment for gloss, contamination resistance and easier washing.
The Supreme Team installed STEK DYNOshield Paint Protection Film on the hood and applied a 3-year System-X Ceramic Coating to the exterior. Together, these services help preserve the Q7’s appearance through regular driving, washing and exposure to the elements.

STEK DYNOshield PPF Protects the Hood
The hood is a high-exposure panel for road debris. Stones kicked up by traffic can leave small chips in exposed paint, and those marks can be especially noticeable against a black finish.
For this Audi, we installed STEK DYNOshield paint protection film across the hood. Its clear, glossy appearance allows the paint and reflections to show through while adding a physical barrier over the panel. Once installed, the clear PPF follows the shape of the panel and helps preserve the vehicle’s original appearance.
The STEK DYNOshield is 8 mils thick and designed to help defend the covered paint against rock chips, light scratches and everyday surface wear. As Supreme Finish owner Kentrell Jackson explains, “The hood takes a lot of exposure on the road. Film gives that panel a layer that can take some of the wear before it reaches the paint. You still have to be realistic about what any protection product can handle.” PPF can reduce the risk of certain types of damage, but no film can prevent every possible chip or impact.
3-Year System X Ceramic Coating
We also finished the Audi’s exterior with a 3-year System-X ceramic coating. Ceramic coating performs a different job from paint protection film. Rather than providing a thick physical barrier against road impacts, it bonds with the treated surface to create a slick, hydrophobic layer.
Water beads and releases more easily, while dirt and road film have a harder time clinging to the finish. That makes normal washing and maintenance easier while helping the Q7 maintain its freshly detailed appearance.

Why We Combine PPF and Ceramic Coating
Hood PPF and exterior ceramic coating address different kinds of wear. The film adds a physical barrier in an area exposed to road debris. The coating helps with surface contamination and cleaning across the treated exterior.
Ceramic coating does not provide rock-chip protection. PPF supplies the physical barrier needed to reduce that risk. Likewise, hood-only PPF does not extend physical protection to the rest of the body.
