The Isle of Man Green color is inspired by the Isle of Man, a small island in the Irish Sea. Each year, the island hosts one of the most intense motorcycle races in the world, where riders hit speeds of over 200 mph on public roads. Starting With Surface Prep
Before correction or coating, the surface has to be clean and smooth. We began with a careful wash to remove loose dirt and road film, then moved into decontamination so bonded contaminants were removed from the paint.
This step matters because it helps polishing stay consistent and helps ceramic coating bond properly. When the surface is properly prepped, the correction looks better and the protection lasts longer.
2-Step Paint Correction
Next came the 2-step paint correction. The first step targets defect removal. This is where we reduce swirls, light scratches, and surface haze that dull the finish.
The second step refines the paint to bring back clarity and deepen gloss. This is the part that makes the finish look crisp in the sun and clean under shop lighting.
On a premium SUV like the XM, this process changes the way the vehicle presents itself. The color looks more “alive.” Reflections tighten up. The paint looks smoother and more uniform across panels. It is the difference between good paint and show-ready paint.
Deep Scratch Repair
During inspection, we identified a deeper scratch near one of the wheel wells. We addressed it with buffing and touch-up paint to clean up the damage and improve the overall appearance. We always aim for the best improvement possible while keeping the finish looking natural and consistent.
3-Year Ceramic Protection
Once the paint was fully dialed in, we applied a 3-year ceramic coating to the paint.
